My wife was working on her M.Ed. and researching one-room and small schools in southwest Virginia. She travelled around the area and interviewed local people who had attended these small schools. My Uncle Glen had been a student at the Exeter Elementary School in Wise County, VA. She asked him to write his memories of the school in Exeter. She published it on her website, unedited.
