I found a great article in the USA Today paper this morning. I like the idea of “found art” (check it out at found-art.com) but when I got into the narrative, I became egrossed at the idea of a “world library.”
In short, you read a book, register on the website, label the book, and “release it into the wild.” The books are free for the finder. The finder is requested to go to the website and make a journal entry about the find. It’s sort of like putting a note in a bottle and tossing it into the ocean, and waiting to hear from the finder. Thousands from around the world have signed up.
So, go to the website, look for your state and your city and see how many books have been released into the wild and where they were released. If you find a recent posting, go on safari and see if you can find it.
I love books, and I like the idea. I believe I’ll sign up for this one and give it a try. Go to the Bookcrossing website and try it out.
